A small business website that installs like an app: its own icon, its own window, no app store
Every iNterGine site can be installed like an app: a customer adds it to their home screen and it opens from its own icon, in its own window. On 7 November 2026 we installed four of our demos this way, and Chrome reported each one installable with no errors and opened each as an installed app.
For you, that means you can tell an owner their customers can keep the business one tap away, without an app store and without anything extra to pay.
What installing gives a business
- Its own icon on the home screen, with the business's name under it. We draw a real logo icon for every demo, and a client's site gets its own.
- Its own window. The installed site opens without the browser's address bar, like an app.
- Nothing to publish or approve. It is the same website: when the owner changes a price or a page, the installed app shows it too.
- Nothing extra to buy. It is part of every site, inside the $30 a month the website costs.
Four demos, installed and opened as apps

| Demo | App name | Opens as | Installability errors | Opened as an installed app |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ledgeline Coffee | Ledgeline | its own window | none | yes |
| Fernhollow Plumbing & Heating | Fernhollow | its own window | none | yes |
| Ember & Sage Kitchen | Ember & Sage | its own window | none | yes |
| Helmside Veterinary Hospital | Helmside | its own window | none | yes |

Try it in the meeting: open a demo on your phone, choose Add to Home Screen in the browser's menu, then open it from the new icon. Several demo tours say the same, for example Ledgeline's: "Open on a phone, then Add to Home screen".
When an app in the app stores fits better
- A phone app in the app stores still reaches people a home-screen site does not: people who search the stores, and features that need a store app. If a client needs a store app, that is a different project; ask us first.
- We only claim what we tested. This page is about installing and opening the site as an app. We did not test working offline or sending messages to the phone, so we do not promise them.
Questions owners ask about the app
Does the business need to publish anything in an app store?
No. Customers install it straight from the website, from the browser's menu.
Does it cost extra?
No. It is part of every site, inside the $30 a month the website costs.
Whose icon does it show?
The business's own: we make the icon when we build the site, and it shows with the business's name on the home screen.
When the owner changes the website, does the app change too?
Yes. The installed app is the website itself, so it shows the same pages and prices.
How we checked
- 7 November 2026, Chromium (the browser Chrome is built on) on a computer: for each of the four demos we read the site's app settings and Chrome's own installability report, installed the site as an app, opened the installed app, confirmed it was running as an installed app, and uninstalled it again. The screenshot was taken inside the installed app at phone size.
- We did not test on a real phone for this page; the phone steps are the ones the demo tours give.
- Price: the Program Rules, read 7 November 2026.
